Aragorn

Today’s portrait is of Aragorn from the Lord of the Rings. This was, without a doubt, one of the most difficult portraits I have attempted and ultimately, I failed on this one. No matter what I did, I just couldn’t seem to get Viggo’s likeness down, at least to my satisfaction. I suspect some of that is due to the extreme lighting in the source image. Despite that, I did learn a lot about lighting from doing this portrait. So though I feel I failed in getting the likeness down, I do like the portrait and I did learn a lot from doing it. There’ll be more Aragorn portraits to come.
